Coming Soon: IBM SVC Monitoring Solution

The future IBM SVC KM for PATROL will monitor the availability, performance and capacity utilization of IBM SVC. It will support the version 4.3.x, 5.1.x and 6.1.x of the IBM SVC operating system (EOS).

The KM will automatically discover the topology and configuration of IBM SVC in the customer environment, including the nodes, FC ports, pools, MDisks and volumes.

The following metrics will be collected:

Nodes:

  • Availability
  • Traffic (read and write, in operations/s and MB/s)

FC Ports:

  • Link status, speed and errors
  • Traffic (read and write, in MB/s, split between “to controller”, “to host”, “other nodes” and “other cluster”)

Pools:

  • Consumed capacity (in TB and % of total capacity)

MDisks:

  • Availability
  • Traffic (read and write in MB/s)

Volumes:

  • Traffic (read and write in MB/s)
