BPM Express for NetApp Filers doesn't need to be installed on each monitored server. It doesn't rely on a PATROL Agent: it is agent-less. Once loaded into BMC Portal, you can check the health of NetApp Filers from your Web browser through the Portal interface. The operators will be alerted as soon as a threshold breach is detected.

BPM Express for NetApp Filers discovers and monitors all the software aspects of the filer: shares, filesystems, quotas, protocols, etc. It uses the SNMP protocol to communicate with the controllers of the NetApp filer.

• LUN Statistics (statistics report on read/write usage over the past days/hours)

To monitor a NetApp® filer, you need to acquire a license "Sentry Software Monitoring for BMC Performance Manager – Storage Monitoring" from BMC Software. The "Storage Monitoring" license gives you the right to use both "BPM Express for Hardware" and "BPM Express for NetApp® Filers" to monitor one NetApp® filer.
