Monitoring Studio offers the following monitoring tools:
- Files, File Systems, Folders, Processes: Parse all types of files and monitor folders, file systems, and processes
- JMX polling: Retrieve the values of MBean objects from Red Hat JBoss®, JOnAS, IBM® WebSphere®, and BEA WebLogic® application servers, as well as standalone JMX™ applications
- Command execution: Execute commands on Windows®, UNIX®, and Linux® systems and analyze their outputs. Supports remote execution on Windows, UNIX and Linux systems
- SNMP polling and trap listening: Retrieve values of single OIDs and SNMP tables, and monitor SNMP traps
- SQL query execution: Execute and analyze the results of SQL queries (Oracle® Database Server, Microsoft® SQL server, and MySQL® server)
- WBEM request: Retrieve and analyze the results of WBEM queries
- Web request: Send HTTP requests and analyze Web server responses
- String searches and numeric value extractions: Fine-tune the monitoring with powerful string searches and advanced numeric value extractions on the return output of all monitored instances

Setting up the monitoring with any of the tools follows the same simple procedure:
- Select the tool and specify what is to be monitored and where it is located
- Enter connection and user credentials
