Detecting High Processor Utilization

Home  Previous  Next

A processor overload can lead to unpredictable performance degradations in a filer. To prevent such problems, administrators need to monitor the Processor Utilization parameter on each filer to diagnose whether the filer processor constitutes the performance bottleneck.

1.In the console, double-click the Processor Utilization parameter of a filer. Expand the NetApp Filer icon, click on System > CPU > ProcessorUtilization

2.A graph is instantly displayed in the console's graph pane

A processor utilization over 80% means that this controller is overloaded and that the filer constitutes a bottleneck.
