Menu Command Description
KM Settings > Alert Actions... Enables you to select the Alert Actions (different methods of notification) to be executed by Hardware Sentry when a parameter breaches its threshold.
KM Settings > Deactivate Device Class... Enables you to set aside device classes from the monitoring process and, therefore, discard the metrics and performance data for those specific devices to be taken into account by the KM.
KM Settings > Alert after N times... Enables you to set the number of times thresholds can be breached before triggering an alert on the following parameters: numeric, discrete, connector status and present parameters.
KM Settings > Missing Device Detection... Enables/Disables missing device detection and specifies when the missing devices should be removed. By default, Hardware Sentry detects "missing devices" i.e. devices previously monitored but which have disappeared during the monitoring or after a reboot or due to some other causes.
KM Settings > Intrusion Detection Alerts... Allows you to decide when an intrusion detection alert for the enclosure/ systems chassis should be raised. The IntrusionStatus parameter of each enclosure object discovered by Hardware Sentry reports whether or not the chassis has been opened, and triggers an alarm as per user settings.
KM Settings > Automatic Error Count Parameters Reset... Enables you to schedule the automatic reset of the ErrorCount parameter of a specific device.
KM Settings > Discovery Interval... Enables you to customize the discovery cycle. By default, discovery is performed every hour.
KM Settings > Polling Interval... Enables you to customize the polling cycle. By default, the polling interval is set to 2 minutes.
KM Settings > Java Settings... Enables you to define which Java instance is to be used by Hardware Sentry.
KM Settings > Additional Settings > Threshold Mechanism Selection... Allows you to select the threshold mechanism: - Automatic (by default): Hardware Sentry determines the mode of threshold management best suited to the system. - Tuning: Hardware Sentry uses the internal PATROL mechanism to set thresholds. - No thresholds: Hardware Sentry does not set any threshold and lets you specify them manually.
KM Settings > Additional Settings > Unknown Status Management... Enables you to set actions to be performed when Hardware Sentry is unable to detect the status of a monitored device.
KM Settings > Additional Settings > Internal KM Issues Notification... Allows you to enable/disable and select the type of information messages displayed by Hardware Sentry in the System Output Window (SOW).
KM Settings > Additional Settings > Restore Monitoring... Brings up the "Restore Monitoring" wizard to restore one or several objects after their monitoring has been stopped.
KM Settings > Additional Settings > Display Settings for UNIX Consoles... Gives you the option to turn on the UNIX console mode and modify all object labels to fit the PATROL UNIX Console label size.
KM Settings > Debug... Activates or deactivates the debug mode.
This System's Settings > Connection, Credentials and Connectors... Enables you to configure the settings required by Hardware Sentry to launch external commands.
This System's Settings > Network Link Alerts... Enables you to choose the monitoring/alert settings for the network link status.
This System's Settings > Default Power Wattage... Enables you to manually enter the electricity consumption for a specific device.
This System's Settings > Rediscover Forces a discovery for a specific host. All the old instances will be removed.
Add a Remote System or an External Device... Allows configuring another system or an external device remotely.
Remove this System Removes the remote system added to the monitoring.
Reporting > Hardware Inventory Generates a hardware health report for the entire managed system.
Reporting > Ethernet/Fiber Port Traffic Report... Generate a report showing usage statistics returned by a specific Ethernet/Fiber port.
Reporting > Energy Usage Report... Generates a report showing the energy consumption for hardware components.
Reporting > Reports Scheduling... To schedule the production of several reports (Energy Usage, Ethernet/Fiber Port Traffic, and Hardware Inventory), every day at a specific time.
Pause Monitoring Pauses the monitoring of all objects.
Resume Monitoring Resumes the monitoring of all objects after they have been paused.
Reinitialize KM... Triggers a complete re-initialization of Hardware Sentry. Customized settings are lost unless specified otherwise in the Reinitialize wizard.
