IBM XiV KM for PATROL monitors all your IBM XiV storage assets within a centralized management console. All the information concerning storage systems, data and interface modules, disks and volumes are directly displayed in your BMC Framework. By monitoring all your IBM XiV storage devices within a centralized management console, you can respond quickly to performance problems, easily determine capacity requirements, and effectively plan for network expansions.

To accurately report on the various metrics available from the IBM XiV devices and components, IBM XiV KM for PATROL accesses the SMI-S Provider embedded within IBM XiV storage systems. The diagram below provide an overview of the  IBM XiV KM for PATROL architecture:
