Monitor Name PATROL Class Description
Studio Command Line X_COMMANDLINE This Monitor executes a command or script on the monitored host and monitors its result. The output of the specified command can be parsed with String Searches, Numeric Value Extractions, Value Maps, Text Pre-Processing or Dynamic Object Builders.
Studio Database Query X_DBQUERY This Monitor queries a database with an SQL statement through supported JDBC drivers. The result of the SQL query can be parsed with String Searches, Numeric Value Extractions, Value Maps, Text Pre-Processing or Dynamic Object Builders.
Studio Dynamic Object X_DYNAMIC Based on another Monitor (File, Command Line, etc.), this object defines the way separate instances are created, by considering the text lines in the result of the underlying Monitor. From this object, you define the String Searches, Numeric Value Extractions and Value Maps templates that will be applied to every dynamic instance. Dynamic instances are created under the X_DYNAMIC_CONT class. Each dynamic instance is represented with the X_DYNAMICDISCOVERY class.
Studio Dynamic Discovery X_DYNAMICDISCOVERY This object represents dynamic instances discovered by the X_DYNAMIC object.
Studio File X_FILE This Monitor parses the content of a file (either a flat file, or a log file where only the new content is considered). It can also monitor the characteristics of the specified file. The content of the file can be parsed with String Searches, Numeric Value Extractions, Value Maps, Text Pre-Processing or Dynamic Object Builders.
Studio File System X_FILESYSTEM This Monitor reports on the main characteristics of a specified file system.
Studio Folder X_FOLDER This Monitor reports on the size, number of files, oldest and newest files, etc. of a specified folder (directory).
Studio Multi-parameter Formula X_FORMULA This Monitor combines the value of several parameters with a specified formula. The formula can be a simple mathematical expression or PSL code to perform string manipulation. Several useful PSL functions are provided for classic operations like table joins. The result can be parsed with String Searches, Numeric Value Extractions, Value Maps, Text Pre-Processing or Dynamic Object Builders.
Studio Host X_HOST This allows users to define a Host to be monitored. Credentials and Monitors are managed from the Host objects.
Studio Host Group X_HOSTGROUP This allows users to group Hosts objects in the Web interface.
Studio HTTP Request X_HTTP This Monitor sends an HTTP request and monitors the response (return code, response time, etc.). The content of the HTTP response can be parsed with String Searches, Numeric Value Extractions, Value Maps, Text Pre-Processing or Dynamic Object Builders. This Monitor can be used for standard Web servers and to query REST APIs.
Monitoring Studio X X_MAIN This is the main application class which creates the main Monitoring Studio instance. By default, all monitoring instances (Hosts, Templates and Monitors) are grouped under this object.
Studio Group X_MONITORGROUP This allows users to group Monitors that are related to a same Host.
Studio Nagios Performance Data X_NAGIOSPERF This Monitor reports on Nagios Plugin performance metrics.
Studio Nagios Plugin X_NAGIOSPLUGIN This Monitor executes a Nagios Plugin command or script on the monitored host and monitors its result. The output of the specified command can be parsed with String Searches, Numeric Value Extractions, Value Maps, Text Pre-Processing or Dynamic Object Builders.
Studio Number Extract X_NUMBER This object extracts numeric values from the underlying Monitor (File, Command Line, etc.). How and where to extract the numeric values can be configured in detail. Some additional operations can be performed on the numeric values before reporting on the Value parameter (conversion, delta, etc.).
Studio Process X_PROCESS This Monitor reports on the performance of one or several processes matching the selection criteria.
Studio PSL Command X_PSLCOMMAND This Monitor executes a PSL command or script on the monitored host and monitors its result. The output of the specified command can be parsed with String Searches, Numeric Value Extractions, Value Maps, Text Pre-Processing or Dynamic Object Builders.
Studio SNMP Polling X_SNMPPOLLING This Monitor polls an SNMP agent (on the monitored Host). Polling a simple specified OID or an entire SNMP tables can be done. The result of the SNMP polling can be parsed with String Searches, Numeric Value Extractions, Value Maps, Text Pre-Processing or Dynamic Object Builders.
Studio SNMP Trap X_SNMPTRAP This Monitor reports on the SNMP traps that are sent by the monitored Host to the PATROL Agent and that match the specified criteria.
Studio String Search X_STRING This object searches for strings from the underlying Monitor (File, Command Line, etc.). How and where to search the string can be configured in detail.
Studio Template X_TEMPLATE This object represents the Template in which you define the hosts to be monitored and how to monitor them.
Studio Text Transform X_TRANSFORM This object transforms complex (multi-line, HTML, XML) text to enable String Searches, Numeric Value Extractions, Value Maps, Text Pre-Processing or Dynamic Object Builders.
Studio Value Map X_VALUEMAP This object extracts values from the underlying Monitor (File, Command Line, etc.). and maps them to status values.
Studio WBEM Query X_WBEMQUERY This Monitor performs a WBEM query. The result of the query can be parsed with String Searches, Numeric Value Extractions, Value Maps, Text Pre-Processing or Dynamic Object Builders.
Studio Windows Event X_WINEVENT This Monitor reports on the events in the Windows Event Log that match the specified criteria. Available for Windows hosts only.
Studio Windows Performance Counter X_WINPERF This Monitor queries the Windows Performance Counters and monitors its result. Available for Windows hosts only.
Studio Windows Service X_WINSERVICE This Monitor searches and monitors the status of the specified Windows Service. Available for Windows hosts only.
Studio WMI Query X_WMIQUERY This Monitor performs a WMI query with a WQL statement to a Windows system. The result of the WQL query can be parsed with String Searches, Numeric Value Extractions, etc. Available for Windows hosts only.
