Hardware Sentry connector for memory modules on Sun Solaris
Should you install this patch?
Apply this patch if you are using Hardware Sentry on a Sun Solaris 8 or 9 SPARC-based server.
What does it fix?
This patch adds the monitoring of memory modules on all Sun Solaris 8 and 9 SPARC-based servers, including those that were not covered with the "Sun Solaris - Environment" connector shipped with version 1.3.01. It relies on the cestat/cediag utilities which need to be installed on the server. More information on cediag
How to install the patch?
Install the MS_HW_SunCediag.hdf file in the $PATROL_HOME/lib/MS_HW_hdf directory of the managed server. Re-initialize Hardware Sentry for the patch to take effect. Nothing needs to be installed on Console systems.
Please note that this connector requires root privileges. You will need to configure Hardware Sentry to either run as root or use sudo for the /opt/SUNWcest/bin/cediag command. This can be done through the Security settings wizard of Hardware Sentry.
