Connectors for MegaCli (LSI) managed RAID card
Should you install this patch?
Apply this patch if you have an IBM EXP 3000 disk enclosure connected to your Linux Server.
What does it fix?
Disks in an external IBM EXP 3000 drive enclosure (directly attached to the server) were not taken into account in the monitoring of Linux servers.
This was caused by the IBM Director Agent with ServeRaid extensions which failed to report on the disks connected to ServeRAID controller but located in an external drive enclosure.
The product now uses MegaCli instead of the IBM Director Agent to collect information about the physical disks located inside the IBM EXP 3000 drive enclosure.
How to install the patch?
Copy the following files to %RSM_HOME%\RSMxx\SEN_HW\hdf_27xx\ on each RSM:
- MS_HW_SunMegaCli.hdf
The database file needs to be deleted for existing elements to activate the new connector: %RSM_HOME%\RSMxx\server\rsm\tmp\deploy\sen_hw_database-[hostname].dat
