Connector for IBM DS3000, DS4000, DS5000 Storage Systems (smcli)

Should you install this patch?

Install this patch if you are monitoring any IBM DS345 system.

What does it fix?

This patch fixes the following issues:

  • The Physical Disk status of "replaced" was not interpreted correctly.
  • Power Supply fan failures were reported as unknown failures and did not generate alarms.

The connector will now alarm on power supply fan failures and warn on any unknown failures.

This patch also adds monitoring of the link status, link speed, and duplex mode of Ethernet (Management and iSCSI) and FC Ports.

How to install the patch?

  1. Copy the following file to %RSM_HOME%\RSMxx\SEN_HW\hdf_27xx\ on each RSM:
    • MS_HW_smcli.hdf
  2. The patch will automatically be taken into consideration.
