The BMC Performance Manager Express for EMC Disk Arrays package

The file required for:

•the installation of BMC Performance Manager Express for EMC Disk Arrays is BPM-Express-EMC-DiskArrays-<version>.par. This file is valid for installation on Windows, UNIX and Linux.

•the integration of BMC Performance Manager Express for EMC Disk Arrays with BMC ProactiveNet Performance Management is BPM-Express-for-EMC-DiskArrays-<version>-PM2BPPM.zip.

Please contact your BMC sales representative to purchase the license to use this product. The product package is to be downloaded from the Sentry Software website on the BMC Performance Manager Express for EMC Disk Arrays product page. A trial version is available for free from the Sentry Software website.

How it works

Once BMC Performance Manager Express for EMC Disk Arrays is installed in your Portal environment:

1.To start up the monitoring, add its corresponding application class to an element or element profile. The BMC Performance Manager Express for EMC Disk Arrays application classes are listed under the Storage category

2.Fill in Properties and Credentials information and click Next

3.Set the threshold parameters

4.Click Finish to validate.

Portal level

BMC Performance Manager Express for EMC Disk Arrays is an agent-less solution designed specifically for BMC Portal. Therefore, it uses/shares/offers all the procedures, features and capabilities offered in the Portal, like Element Profile, Shared credentials, Adding/Editing/Deleting classes etc.

BPPM level

Once installed and configured in your Portal environment, BMC Performance Manager Express for EMC Disk Arrays can be integrated into BMC ProactiveNet Performance Management to detect abnormalities on your monitored environment.

EMC Disk Arrays level

As described above, you need to enter certain information:

•Collection interval

•Configuration details depending on the version.
