What's New

The following classes have been added: SEN_EMC_CONTROLLER_CONT, SEN_EMC_DISKGROUP, SEN_EMC_DISKGROUP_CONT, SEN_EMC_FCPORT, SEN_EMC_MAIN, SEN_EMC_PHYSICALDISK_CONT, SEN_EMC_SMISPROVIDER,SEN_EMC_SMISPROVIDER_MANAGEDARRAY, SEN_EMC_STORAGEPOOL_CLAR, SEN_EMC_STORAGEPOOL_SYMM, SEN_EMC_VOLUME_CONT

Changes and Improvements

Better integration with BMC ProactiveNet Performance Management: Application Classes and Key Performance Indicators are now automatically enabled and set when importing a BMC Portal adapter into BMC ProactiveNet.
SEN_EMC_ARRAY:
The Array Addresses parameter was renamed Array ID
The following 2 parameters were added to the application class: Family and Number of Disks
SEN_EMC_STORAGEPOOL_CLAR and SEN_EMC_STORAGEPOOL_SYMM:
These two application classes replace SEN_EMC_STORAGEPOOLS
The Read Byte Rate and Write Byte Rate parameters were added
The Consumed Capacity and Subscribed Capacity parameters are now expressed in Terabytes (TB)
SEN_EMC_CONTROLLER: the following 4 parameters were added to the application class:
IP
Protocol
Role
Serial Number
SEN_EMC_VOLUME: the following 2 parameters were added to the application class:
Paths
Hosts
SEN_EMC_PHYSICALDISK: the Storage Pool parameter was added to the application class
Log files: The naming convention for log files was modified to become sen*_debug.log
The Status default warning conditions is no longer "!" = Warning" and "!!" = Alarm but 1=Warning and 2=Alarm.
Better performance when discovering and collecting data from large storage systems. Collection timeouts are less likely to occur
Statistics Logging: A warning alert is now triggered on the SMI-S Provider instance if the statistics have not been enabled on the storage systems.

Fixed Issues

The value of iSCSI hosts was not properly displayed. The parameter value is now easily readable.

Known Issues

In some specific cases, the PM does not report the fact that the statistics have not been enabled on the monitored storage system.
In rare occasions, some parameters may show a "No Data" value.
The time set on the SMI-S Provider may differ from the time of the RSM. To ensure an accurate time information, it is recommended to synchronize them both.
