Home  Previous  Next

warningDue to major technical improvements, older versions of BMC ProactiveNet Performance Management - IBM DS6000, DS8000 Series Storage and version 1.3.00 are not compatible. They cannot be operated simultaneously and upgrading is not supported. Note that the entire configuration of  BMC ProactiveNet Performance Management - IBM DS6000, DS8000 Series Storage will be lost when upgrading from an older version. To use version 1.3.00 safely, we strongly recommend you to perform the following operations:

1.Uninstall older version of BMC ProactiveNet Performance Management - IBM DS6000, DS8000 Series Storage.
2.Install version 1.3.00 of BMC ProactiveNet Performance Management - IBM DS6000, DS8000 Series Storage.
3.Configure the connections to the IBM Storage Manager.
4.Reconfigure all customizable settings, as needed

What's New

Disable Volumes Monitoring: This new feature allows administrators to disable the monitoring of all the volumes of a system in order to limit the number of instances created and therefore reduce the system resource consumption.
The monitoring solution now supports unlimited debug file size. In previous versions, the debug file size was limited to 500 MB.
New Monitor Types: BMC ProactiveNet Performance Management - IBM DS6000, DS8000 Series Storage now monitors physical disks (IBM DS Physical Disk) as well as logical partitions (IBM DS LPAR )
New parameters: the table lists the various attributes that have been added to better cover the monitoring of the various aspect of your IBM environment:

Fixed Issues

The volumes discovery process outlasted its anticipated duration causing the collection process to stop.

Known Limitation

Attribute names modifications are not always handled properly within the BMC ProactiveNet console. You might see some parameters appear twice, that is under their former and actual names. If you encounter this problem, contact a BMC support representative.
