HP 3PAR KM for PATROL

Release Notes v1.1.06

What's New

Physical Disks Monitoring: The ChunkletCount and ChunkletSize are now managed as collected parameters.
Configuration Variables: A new variable (sowMessages) is now available to configure the type of internal information that should be displayed in the System Output Window in the PATROL Console.
In order to optimize the monitoring on large environment, users can now customize the discovery and the collect processes timeouts by using two new configuration variables: discoveryOperationTimeout and collectOperationTimeout. See the Configuration Variables section for detailed information.

Changes and Improvements

The System Output Window (SOW) messages generated by HP 3PAR KM for PATROL are now saved in the SEN_HP3P_debug_km_*.log debug file when the debug mode is activated.
The password algorithm encryption is now handled by the PATROL Agent.

Fixed Issues

Before each re-initialization of the KM, HP 3PAR KM for PATROL backs-up the latest PATROL Agent configuration and save the data in a timestamped configuration file. The number of configuration backup files can rapidly use a large amount of space on a server. To avoid this situation, HP 3PAR KM for PATROL now only saves the latest configuration backup under the %PATROL_HOME%\config directory.
Java Settings - User Selection: the username entered in the "Java Settings" dialog box was not properly saved in the configuration.
Storage Pools capacity parameters: The Capacity parameter is now computed upon the discovery and collect processes to ensure a better accuracy of the values reported for the following parameters:
 AvailableCapacity
 AvailableCapacityPercentage
 ConsumedCapacityPercentage
 SubscribedCapacity
 SubscribedCapacityPercentage
Storage Pools Monitoring: The computation of the SubscribedCapacity parameter has been improved to report more accurately on the actual subscribed value.
FC Ports, Ethernet Ports and SAS Ports Monitoring: The ReceivedResponseTime and SentReponseTime parameters now accurately reflect the actual collected values.
The computation method used to report on byte rates and response times for the following application classes has been improved to report more accurately on the parameters actual values:
SEN_HP3P_STORAGESYSTEM: ReceivedByteRate, SentByteRate and TransferByteRate, ReceivedResponseTime, SentResponseTime, ResponseTime
SEN_HP3P_NODE: ReadByteRate, WriteByteRate, TransferByteRate and ReadResponseTime, WriteResponseTime and ResponseTime
SEN_HP3P_PHYSICALDISK: ReadByteRate, WriteByteRate, TransferByteRate and ReadResponseTime, WriteResponseTime and ResponseTime
SEN_HP3P_VOLUME: ReadByteRate, WriteByteRate, TransferByteRate and ReadResponseTime, WriteResponseTime and ResponseTime
