Hardware Physical Disk
PATROL Class: MS_HW_PHYSICALDISK - Monitor Type: MONITOR - Monitor Category: System
No CDM Class defined.
Monitors a specific physical disk for loss of data, unavailability and performance degradation. When available, the S.M.A.R.T. technology will be used to predict a disk failure before it occurs.
Attributes (Parameters)
| Name | PATROL Name | Units | Default Thresholds | Description |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Device Not Ready Error Count | DeviceNotReadyErrorCount | errors | ALARM |
Number of not ready device errors that the disk has encountered since the last reinitialization, or since the last manual reset. Value set by physicalDiskColl. Type: Statistics |
| Error Count | ErrorCount | errors | None | Number of errors encountered by the physical disk since the last reinitialization or since the last manual reset. This parameter is incremented each time an error occurs on this physical disk. An alert is raised automatically from the first detected error. The operator can reset the counter and clear the alert through the menu Acknowledge Error Count Alerts and Reset. Resetting the ErrorCount parameter can also be configured to be performed automatically. Value set by physicalDiskColl. Type: Statistics |
| Hard Error Count | HardErrorCount | errors | ALARM |
Number of hard errors that the disk has encountered since the last reinitialization, or since the last manual reset. Value set by physicalDiskColl. Type: Statistics |
| Illegal Request Error Count | IllegalRequestErrorCount | errors | ALARM |
Number of illegal request errors that the disk has encountered since the last reinitialization, or since the last manual reset. Value set by physicalDiskColl. Type: Statistics |
| Media Error Count | MediaErrorCount | errors | ALARM |
Number of media errors that the disk has encountered since the last reinitialization, or since the last manual reset. Value set by physicalDiskColl. Type: Statistics |
| No Device Error Count | NoDeviceErrorCount | errors | ALARM |
Number of no device errors that the disk has encountered since the last reinitialization, or since the last manual reset. Value set by physicalDiskColl. Type: Statistics |
| Predicted Failure | PredictedFailure | 0 = OK 1 = Failure Predicted |
WARN |
Informs if a failure is predicted. Value set by physicalDiskColl. Type: Availability |
| Present | Present | 0 = Missing 1 = Present |
ALARM |
Availability of the physical disk. Value set by physicalDiskColl. Type: Availability |
| Recoverable Error Count | RecoverableErrorCount | errors | None | Number of recoverable errors that the disk has encountered since the last reinitialization, or since the last manual reset. Value set by physicalDiskColl. Type: Statistics |
| Status | Status | 0 = OK 1 = Degraded 2 = Failed |
WARN ALARM |
Physical disk status. Value set by physicalDiskColl. Type: Availability - Default graph |
| Status Information | StatusInformation | None | None | Additional (textual) information about the current status of the physical disk. Value set by physicalDiskColl. Type: Text |
| Transport Error Count | TransportErrorCount | errors | ALARM |
Number of transport errors that the disk has encountered since the last reinitialization, or since the last manual reset. Value set by physicalDiskColl. Type: Statistics |
