WarningAll users of v.2.9.00 are strongly advised to upgrade to v.2.9.02.

Changes and Improvements

Better integration with BMC ProactiveNet Performance Management: Application Classes and Key Performance Indicators are now automatically enabled and set when importing a BMC Portal adapter into BMC ProactiveNet.
Studio - SNMP Polling: The SNMP polling application class is available for the following element platforms Network Firewall, Network Load Balancer, Network Switch, and Network Router.
Collection intervals of all application classes can now be also set to 30 or 60 minutes.

Fixed Issues

LOG File Monitoring and Analysis: On UNIX/Linux systems the 'tail' command was not properly executed due to a problem in the script path.
LOG File Monitoring and Analysis: The "Last Modified" parameter value was not correctly calculated.
Studio - Remote Command Execution and Analysis (UNIX/Linux) Application Class: The PM failed to execute the specified command on a remote UNIX/Linux system using the protocol SSH. The return output parameter of the Remote Command Execution instance displayed "Algorithm negotiation fails".
Studio - Remote Command Execution and Analysis (Windows) Application Class:
The outputs of the command were stored in a temporary file that was created and named before the data was collected. The name of the temporary file was unique so that the outputs of all the instances belonging to the same element were stored in the same file. Therefore, the output of a command from an instance was mixed with the output of a command from another instance or the temporary files were not deleted properly since there might be two processes trying to access the temporary file at the same time. To avoid this problem, the name of the temporary file has been made unique for every instance.
The processes created on the remote element during the execution of the command are not killed properly when the specified time out duration is reached. Once the execution of the command times out, the script now kills the parent process as well as the sub-process created during the command execution.
Studio - Numeric Value Extraction Application Class: The PM failed to extract the numeric value from the specified Log File if the option "Parse On RSM" is selected. The value parameter of the numeric extraction instance was greyed out.
An error occurred when both the application class "Web Request (HTTP Get) or  Web Request (HTTP Post) " of Monitoring Studio and the Oracle PM of BMC were attempting to use the jvm system properties at the same time.
BMC Performance Manager Express Monitoring Studio 2.9.00: If several instances existed for one application class, the return output of the first handled instance was also applied to all the other instances of the same application class. Therefore, all the remaining instances were not properly processed.
Studio - SQL Query (Microsoft SQL Server): On Portal 2.7, 2.8, 2.9, the connection to the database is now established successfully even if the protocol encryption is set.

Known Issue

Studio - SQL Query (Microsoft SQL Server): On Portal 2.10, the connection to the database cannot be established and the connection will fail with the message "Failed: I/O Error: Connection reset".
