Specifying Signature Files

Home  Previous  Next

This feature is used to monitor clustered applications. It specifies all the signature files to be searched. If the signature files are:

present, Monitoring Studio starts monitoring the managed application
missing, Monitoring Studio disables the monitoring of the entire application. This can be extremely useful when the application is hosted by a "fail-over" cluster.

To set signature files:

1.In the Advanced Options page, click Signature files .
2.Enter the paths to the signature files.

WarningWildcards are not accepted.

3.Click Accept.

The application monitoring will only be performed if at least one of the four signature file paths is found. If none of the required files can be found, the application monitoring will be turned offline.

Extending Signature Files to Sub-Containers

To extend signature files to sub-containers, provide the name and full path of all the signature files of the sub-containers to be considered in the MASAI/SENTRY8/<sub-container ID>/existenceFiles variable. The list must be comma-delimited.

WarningThere is no dialog box to add, remove, or check the list of signature files for sub-containers. If one or more files set is present or if the list is empty, the sub-container and its dependencies will be monitored as usual. If no file is present, the monitoring will be paused.
