Should you install this patch?

Install this patch if you are getting failure events with the following descriptions "There are no failed fans" or "There are no failed power supplies".

What does it fix?

If the query that collects the number of failed fans/power supplies failed or returned an unexpected value (non zero/negative integer) BMC Performance Manager Express for Hardware generated a false alert. The connector will now only trigger an alert if the query returns a positive integer.

How to install the patch?

  1. Copy the following file to %RSM_HOME%\RSMxx\SEN_HW\hdf_2xxx\ on each RSM:
    • MS_HW_NetApp.hdf
  2. No further actions are required. The new component monitoring will be added at the next discovery.
