Prerequisites

Integrated as a native module for PATROL, TrueSight Operations Management - Dell Compellent Storage Monitoring is designed to monitor the health and performance of your Dell storage environment.

Prior to install TrueSight Operations Management - Dell Compellent Storage Monitoring, make sure that the following elements are installed and properly configured:

•PATROL Agent, version 3.8 or higher (see BMC PATROL documentation)

•PATROL Console (see BMC PATROL documentation)

•Dell Compellent Enterprise Manager 6.3 and higher

TrueSight Operations Management - Dell Compellent Storage Monitoring leverage Dell Compellent Enterprise Manager to collect hardware and performance metrics about your Dell storage systems and bring them into your TrueSight Operations Management Console. In order to fully take advantage of all the capabilities offered by the monitoring solution, make sure to perform the following procedures:

•Installing Enterprise Manager Data Collector

•Installing Enterprise Manager Client

•Installing Enterprise Manager Server Agent

•Connecting to Data Collector

•Configuring Dell Compellent Enterprise Manager

Finally, Java Runtime Environment version 1.8.00 or higher is required in some cases for the solution to operate properly.
A package with a suitable Java Runtime Environment, designed for use with the BMC Software Installation Utility, is made available to download on the Sentry Software Web site.

TrueSight Operations Management - Dell Compellent Storage Monitoring only supports Sun or Oracle Java Virtual Machines (JVMs).
