Apply this patch if you need to monitor a Cisco UCS Blade Chassis and Fabric Interconnect Switch.
What does it fix?
Adds support for Cisco UCS Blade Chassis and Fabric Interconnect Switch through Cisco UCS Manager. The connector leverages the Cisco UCS XML API (HTTPS over TCP/443 port).
How to install the patch?
1/ Copy the following files to the %PATROL_HOME%\lib\MS_HW_hdf directory on the managed server:
2/ Unzip MS_HW_CiscoUcsXmlQuery.zip and copy the following file to the %PATROL_HOME%\bin directory:
Nothing needs to be installed on Console systems.
3/ Re-initialize Hardware Sentry for the patch to take effect.
4/ Once Hardware Sentry is up and running, [right-click] on the main Hardware icon > [KM Commands] > [Add a Remote System or External Device...].
5/ Enter the name and IP address of Cisco UCS Manager (actually, the IP address of the Fabric Interconnect Switch).
6/ Select "Blade Chassis, Out-of-band Management Card" for the system type and click [Next].
7/ Select "Cisco UCS Manager" in the list of connectors and click [Next].
8/ Enter a username and password valid on Cisco UCS Manager, leave the "SSH" option, click [Next] and [Finish].
Note: This version of the connector will work only on a Windows system. The monitoring of a Cisco UCS Blade Chassis and Fabric Interconnect Switch can only be performed from a Windows system, which does not need to be one of the blades in the monitored chassis.
