Should you install this patch?

Apply this patch if you are getting very high ErrorPercent values when monitoring Brocade SAN switches and if the corresponding alerts are caused by a high rate of "Zero Buffer Credit" errors.

What does it fix?

This patch removes the swFCPortNoTxCredits counter (corresponding to "Zero Buffer Credit" errors) from the ErrorPercent parameter calculation.

How to install the patch?

  1. Copy the following file to the $PATROL_HOME/lib/MS_HW_hdf directory on the managed server:
    • MS_HW_BrocadeSwitch.hdf
  2. Re-initialize Hardware Sentry for the patch to take effect.
  3. Nothing needs to be installed on Console systems.
