Connector for Dell OpenManage Storage Manager

Should you install this patch?

Install this patch to improve the labels of the disks in Dell PowerEdge server with the Dell OpenManage Server Administrator agent.

What does it fix?

The connector will now use Dell's Location (Nexus) codes to identify disks. The previously used SNMP identifiers are no longer reliable indicators of the true location of the physical disk and can change.

How to install the patch?

Copy the following file to %RSM_HOME%\RSMxx\SEN_HW\hdf_2x\ on each RSM:

  • MS_HW_DellStorageManager.hdf
No further actions are required. The new component monitoring will be added at the next discovery.
