Should you install this patch?

Apply this patch if you are getting a false alarm from the VVMRLinkKernelStatus parameter on Windows systems.

What does it fix?

The value of the VVMRLinkKernelState parameter was sometimes improperly set to Enabled (=1) instead of Connect (= 0); which caused a false alarm to be triggered by the VVMRLinkKernelStatus parameter.

How to install the patch?

  1. Unzip VVM_rlink_lib.zip
  2. Copy the following .lib file to the %PATROL_HOME%\lib\psl or $PATROL_HOME/lib/psl directory on the managed server:
    • VVM_rlink_lib.lib
  3. Restart the PATROL Agent.
  4. Nothing needs to be installed on the Console systems.
