Should you install this patch?

Apply this patch if you experience duplicate processor instances when monitoring IBM xSeries servers through the IBM Director Agent (locally or remotely).

This patch replaces: P1523

What does it fix?

On rare occasions, the IBM Director Agent will report each processor twice. The connector now properly identifies these erroneous instances and excludes them from the monitoring.

How to install the patch?

  1. Copy the following files to %RSM_HOME%\RSMxx\SEN_HW\hdf_2xxx\ on each RSM:
    • MS_HW_Director61NT.hdf
    • MS_HW_Director61Linux.hdf
  2. No further actions are required. The new component monitoring will be added at the next discovery.
