Connector for EMC Disk Arrays

Should you install this patch?

Apply this patch if you get an alert on the MS_HW_CONNECTOR TestReport parameter with the "EMC_DiskDrive" query failing with partial results.

What does it fix?

The connector no longer queries the EMC_DiskDrive class to verify that the EMC SMI-S Provider is functional. The workload on the EMC SMI-S Provider is therefore significantly reduced, which improves the overall stability of the solution.

How to install the patch?

  1. Copy the following file to the $PATROL_HOME/lib/MS_HW_hdf directory on the server where the PATROL Agent runs:
    • MS_HW_EMCDiskArray.hdf
  2. Re-initialize Hardware Sentry for the patch to take effect.
  3. Nothing needs to be installed on Console systems.
