Should you install this patch?

Install this patch if you are monitoring ESX v3 or later servers

What does it fix?

Some power supply faults were only reported by the VMware ESX availability status parameter. This patch will use both VMware ESX health and availability status to determine the health of the power supply.

How to install the patch?

  1. Copy the following files to the $PATROL_HOME/lib/MS_HW_hdf directory on the server where the PATROL Agent runs:
    • MS_HW_VMwareESX4i.hdf
    • MS_HW_VMwareESXi.hdf
  2. Re-initialize Hardware Sentry for the patch to take effect. Nothing needs to be installed on Console systems.
