Should you install this patch?

Install this patch if you wish to monitor Huawei Storage Systems (OceanStor).

What does it fix?

Adds monitoring of Huawei Storage Systems (OceanStor) via SNMP.

Note: Physical and logical disk size monitoring is not currently supported by Hardware Sentry v.1.9.00 as it requires SNMP v2c or v3.

How to install the patch?

  1. Copy the following file to the $PATROL_HOME/lib/MS_HW_hdf directory on the server where the PATROL Agent runs:
    • MS_HW_HuaweiStorage.hdf
  2. Re-initialize Hardware Sentry for the patch to take effect. Nothing needs to be installed on Console systems.
