Temperature discovery and collection PSL library

Should you install this patch?

Apply this patch is you get get_ranges() PSL errors related to temperature sensors in the System Output Window of the PATROL Agent in the PATROL Console as shown below:

Event Command (0:RemPsl), Line# 600: get_ranges: object '/MS_HW_TEMPERATURE/SYSPS1TEMP_FAULT/Temperature' not found. PSL function failed.

What does it fix?

Sensors where the actual temperature measure is not available are properly discarded when calculating the DegreesBelowWarning value. This avoids the display of an error message in the System Output Window. The error message had no effect on the calculation of the DegreesBelowWarning parameter and the monitoring of the temperature sensors.

How to install the patch?

  1. Copy the following files to the $PATROL_HOME/lib/psl or %PATROL_HOME%\lib\psl directory on the server where the PATROL Agent is running:
    • MS_HW_temperature.lib
  2. Restart the PATROL Agent for the patch to take effect.
  3. Nothing needs to be installed on Console systems.
  4. Warning: The monitoring stops working immediately after the PSL library has been installed and until the PATROL Agent has been restarted
