P1381: Brocade, McData and Fibre Alliance Switches monitored using SNMPJanuary 15, 2013
Connectors for Brocade, McData and Fibre Alliance switches.
Should you install this patch?
Install this patch if you are getting incorrect values for the BandwidthUtilization and LinkSpeed parameters when monitoring Brocade or McData SAN switches through SNMP.
What does it fix?
Depending on the model, firmware versions and manufacturer of SAN switches, different values have been used to convert from Kb/s to Mb/s (100, 125 or 106.25). This patch will detect which value has been used and use it to calculate the link speed of the port and its bandwidth utilization.
How to install the patch?
- Copy the following files to the $PATROL_HOME/lib/MS_HW_hdf or %PATROL_HOME%\lib\MS_HW_hdf directory on the server where the PATROL Agent runs:
- Re-initialize Hardware Sentry for the patch to take effect.
- Nothing needs to be installed on Console systems.
